I just wanted to send you an email to thank you for the input, training tips and use of the Lab to prepare for the race this fall in California(FC 508, 2011). Jim and I had a great race and none of it would have been possible without your facility and expertise. Pete was on hand during the prep and race itself, providing vital input into these endurance races that only he possesses. That professional input is nearly impossible to find anywhere, at WattsUp however, Pete is always there with his energetic drive and desire to help others and Adam, equally willing to help athletes reach their goals and excel on race day.
|
 |
|
And of course, it is a process, all the months leading up to race day, all the workouts at WattsUp, grinding out the km's on the CompuTrainers, Adam's orchestrated workouts and Pete's training advice. It really has been a long haul and we(Canadian Lynx) are very appreciative of the people that you are and the product that you offer. It was the exact prescription necessary to win our age group and get on the podium at the FC508 2011!!
|
 |
|
WattsUp athletes are fortunate to have so much available to them, it keeps motivation high and produces continual improvements throughout the year. It is a unique facility that we are proud to be a part of.
|
 |
Thanks again Guys,
Looking Forward to our next adventure!!!

I was going to send you a note today to tell you how impressed I am with your office. If I were to
envision opening my own endurance 'center', I'd want it to look just like that! I love the warehouse,
no-frills look and feel of the place. The size of the changerooms are perfect, clean, and tidy.

Pete was great and made me feel very welcome - he set my bike up on the CompuTrainer, and showed
me how to do it for the next time I come.

I finished 49 / 100 in my class and I am thrilled!! I owe you guys - Adam & Peter (presented by WattsUP)
bigtime. Your encouragement and support (and of course the workouts) helped build my confidence to the
point of registering for a race. Finishing in the middle may be disappointing to some but I am nothing
short of thrilled!!!

All that WattsUp training really paid off - for the first time in 3 tries I was able to ride the
finishing climb (at the Paris to Ancaster Race) (and avoid cramping). Plus, I feel pretty good, unlike
the last 2 times where I felt like a bag of dirt at the end and had to lie down for an hour.

Compared to this time last year (ie, March), I'd have to say I am in mid season shape or better
and no pain getting started outside thanks to WattsUp.

Felt good and strong on the bike on Saturday and the girlfriend I rode with is getting nervous
that she can't keep up any more so the program is working for me!

I think Wattsup has a great setup and feel the indoor sessions with Peter have improved my fitness,
and my understanding of how to sustain performance over a long ride.

The cycling season got off to a good start with a 4th place at the first O'Cup, will be racing
next weekend in Niagara also. Certainly the fitness of watts up is paying a dividend or three!!

When I arrived at WattsUp less than six months ago I basically had no idea how to work hard on a
bike and I had never owned anything but a mountain bike that I never used. With my first Ironman ahead
of me I am not sure that I could have been ready without you guys and WattsUp. You made it fun to learn
something that I hated! You made me feel welcome and important. I will always be a big fan of WattsUp.

I had a great time at WattsUp and I know my cycling has improved over the winter. I'm off to do
Rideau Lakes in a couple of weeks which has been my goal. I will definitely be back in the fall as I
plan to do Lake Placid next summer. I'll need all the help I can get to prepare for that hilly course!

Thanks to you and Peter for providing such a great place to train. I loved every minute of it! See you in the fall!

You will be pleased to know that all of the "Watts UP" ladies finished the Ride to Conquer Cancer
with ease. We had great weather and it was amazing to see what some of the girls who hadn't done
longer distances in training were able to accomplishment - all because of the training with you and Peter.

It was a good race for me (Muskoka Long Course Triathlon), as I took 16 minutes off my time from last
year. Much better! I owe that to some cycling at Watts Up over the winter - most definitely.

As you heard by now, we all make it! We finished the ride to Niagara with ease thanks to your
training program + coaching tips. We became known affectionately as the WattsUp girls. I think
you will get many hits on your web site in the near future. We even impressed some of the younglings
on our team! Our favourite saying to each other during the difficult hill stretches was "this is so
much easier than Watts Up" I can't thank you enough for taking all of us to a new level of fitness.

Had the most amazing day at the Joe's Team triathlon. This was by far my most enjoyable sporting event
to date despite challenges along the way. And I have to say, hats off to both of you because whereas
last year my placements in my three events were always comparable my cycling was by far my strong suit
this year. But even more importantly, I loved the bike portion--rode confidently with a high cadence.

Thanks for the good wishes. My overall time (at Ironman USA) was 47 minutes faster than '07 and my
bike split was 36 minutes faster than '07, thanks largely to my training at WattsUp. Thanks for all
your good help and I look forward to seeing you soon.

We all road the 200 miles over the two days (of RTCC) as a group and averaged
28kms/hr the first day (including that slow start) and 31 kms/hr the second as a part
of a very large group (at times nearing 50 riders) that rode and worked together
through some very interesting winds (particularly on Sunday). The experience has made
us all better riders. Overall, a great experience for a very special charity as well as
riding much farther than we have ever gone before in one day (never mind doing it back
to back). The WattsUp team did some good work up front as well. We also need to thank
you for your efforts over the past year. We could not have accomplished the work we did
over the last two days without the help and support you provided at Watts-up over
these many months.

really happy with my strength and pace. I owe that to my first season at Watts Up.

...when I saw the detailed stats, I was really happy! Both runs combined, sub
5 min pace, ride > 30 km/hr (just!!!). I had a blast and felt really strong on the
bike (for me anyways). Don't get me wrong, people passed me, but I definitely passed
more people going up the hills than got passed so that was encouraging. All thanks
to WattsUp!!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the work you've done with me. I have
grown significantly as a cyclist in your facility and under your expertise, and am almost
able to keep up with my lady friend! Exciting stuff. Thanks again for all of your work.
I really believe in what you do, not only making elites better, but making normal
everyday people like me better than we've ever been, and all this, without judgment.
I'm all about accessibility in my work as well, and this level of fitness has never been
accessible to me before. Thanks for that.

I like the idea of 1 consistent work out a week on the bike where I'm not at
the mercy of the weather, the traffic and the uncertainties of a group ride. I also
appreciate the fact that the work out at Watts Up is designed to improve my bike fitness
and group rides do not take that into consideration. Thanks to WattsUp for coming up
with a fantastic bike fitness programme.

Thanks, the BCC multirider evenings through the winter were great. The group
dynamic sure makes riding the trainer more fun, and lets us stay connected through the
winter. These weekly rides, kept me thinking about my fitness, and in fact, kept me
doing sessions on my home trainer two other evenings a week. I hope we can do the
same thing next winter.

I finished the 190 km Hastings Hilly Hundred ride on Saturday. 9 hours in the saddle
and 1300 meters of climbing. It was real tough, almost shattering at points, but I
made it. The good news is that my conditioning was good. I did not experience any cardio
or breathing distress and once off the bike, I was stiff and tired but otherwise fine.
I am not suggesting that I would have ridden another ride the next day but I was not
incapacitated at all. So, my training is paying off..fer sure Eh! And at one point the,
young, guys I was riding with told me that they were amazed at my level of fitness and
conditioning; that is the old guy keeps coming and won't quit! I am chuffed as,
frankly, I have never thought of myself as an athlete before. But now I do!

I thought that you might like to know that I have won my five-year age group in each
of the four Subaru Series sprint duathlons I have competed in this summer. I really
have to give my winter and spring riding at WattsUp a great deal of credit for my success.
My biking is amazing compared to last year!

Thanks to WattsUp I finished another 12 hour race and reached my goal with a whole
5 minutes to spare. As I have relayed to you previously I would never have even
contemplated entering such an event let alone setting any goals beyond not vomiting
by noon. WattsUp has given me the confidence to participate in races and I was very
proud to wear the new kit this weekend.

Once again for the training and - guess what- it works! I think we all surprised
ourselves at this year's Ride to Conquer Cancer...everyone on our team from Watts Up made
big improvements on our ride from last year...rode faster, found it easier, no major
aches or pains and had a ton of fun along the way.
